The Hub is just that, the spoke of a wheel, and in the case of South Fork’s trail system, a central gathering place.
If you are beginning your Ride for the day, “The Hub” is a rewarding elevation goal as you climb up from ground zero (or the parking lot). It is the ideal place to rehydrate and regroup. You can also leave your extra water (or food) here to lighten your load while you figure-eight the upper trails.
If you are riding in a larger group with riders of various skill levels, “The Hub” is a great place to regroup or take a break and grab some lunch as you recover for a second riding session.
In Spring 2023, we used “The Hub” as our gathering place for friends and volunteers for our First Annual Ride the Red Event. This was our volunteer appreciation Ride, where we cooked wood-fired pizzas and snacks while most volunteers got to test-ride the newly built Clifline Trail for the first time.
