Black Oak Tower

I wanted to design something different with my most recent cabin build. I have been interested in modern, minimalist spaces and have always wanted to build a treehouse. The Black Oak Tower stands tall among the trees, and its modern-rustic design features floor-to-ceiling windows on all three floors. Its westward orientation brings in the sunset, delivering dynamic late-afternoon lighting. The tables, most of the furniture, and the shelves were designed and built from wood harvested on the property, and the century-old white oak flooring was reclaimed from a local barn I took down. The main level features an open living space for gathering; the top floor has 2 bedrooms/full bath; the basement has a game room; and the 100+ acre property features a private trail system.
